Project Overview & Purpose

Our county is growing rapidly, and the growth brings long-term opportunities and challenges that require us to develop smart solutions that shape the future of Rockwall County. Our purpose is to think strategically and purposefully, identifying the opportunities and challenges and creating an integrated plan for success. We have the opportunity to shape and influence our quality of life, economic vitality, purposeful design and civic richness of all residents, businesses and visitors to Rockwall County for the next 25 years.


Rockwall County has embarked on a year-long strategic planning process to establish a unified vision and action plan as the County approaches the year 2050. The strategic plan aims to provide a clear roadmap with goals and strategies specific to the community's needs, striving for the following outcomes:


1. Provide a unified vision for the desired future of Rockwall County
2. Create a reference point for future decision-making
3. Stimulate public awareness and bring together communities
