    FAQs

    About the Process

Phase 1: Select Preferred City Hall Location

    • In Phase 1, the consultant team was asked to explore two potential locations for a new City Hall. The "North Parcel" includes a site north of Hopkins St near the existing skate and dog parks. The "South Parcel" is the site of the current City Hall. For more information on these sites and the outcomes of the Phase 1 work, please watch the video of the April 15th Council Worksession linked here.

Phase 2: Prepare Detailed Recommendations for the Preferred Site

    • In Phase 2, the consultant team will explore in greater detail the preferred City Hall site, conducting public and stakeholder engagement that will inform a set of final recommendations related to layout, program, phasing and funding for a new City Hall.
    • The team will also look at the wider corridor context, providing recommendations for enhancing the overall experience of the corridor including the parks and public spaces and connectivity to adjacent uses such as Texas State University, surrounding commercial development and residential neighborhoods, and Downtown San Marcos.
