Project Overview
The City of Kyle is developing its Unified Development Code (UDC) to implement the recommendations of the Kyle 2030 Comprehensive Plan.
The UDC update will also incorporate recommendations from the following City plans:
- Kyle Downtown Master Plan & Design Standards
- Kyle Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan
- Kyle Mobility Plan
The UDC is the set of local regulations adopted by the City that govern land use, zoning, subdivision, site planning, and development standards, all contained in a single document. Instead of having separate ordinances for zoning, subdivision, and design, the UDC consolidates them to make regulations more consistent and easier to navigate.
Key Features:
- Zoning Regulations: Defines what types of land uses (residential, commercial, industrial, etc.) are allowed in different districts.
- Subdivision Regulations: Lays out how property can be divided, including requirements for streets, drainage, and utilities.
- Procedures: Provides the process for rezoning, permitting, variances, and public hearings.
