Project Overview
The City of Cedar Hill is currently updating its development regulations and will consolidate them into a Unified Development Code. The process will take 30 months, beginning in Fall 2025 and completing in Spring 2028.
As the rewrite process progresses, we will offer meetings for residents to share their input. Stay tuned for updates and ways to get involved!
What is a Unified Development Code?
A Unified Development Code (UDC) consolidates zoning, subdivision, and related development standards into a single document. Having all of the development regulations in one place helps organize the regulations and makes it easier to understand how land can be used for development.
Why Rewrite the Code?
Rewriting the code brings a number of benefits to all code uses, which include:
- Preserves character while simplifying regulations
- Improves services with streamlined processes
- Engages the community
- Protects natural assets
- Improve predictability and user-friendliness
