Overview

Welcome to the Oak Ridge Comprehensive Plan Meeting-in-a-Box! Get involved in the planning process and enhance public engagement with your community by hosting your own meeting. The goal of the Meeting-in-a-Box engagement tool is to ensure community members can engage in meaningful discussions, reflect on important topics, and collaborate on solutions without extensive preparation or multiple tools.

You can host a meeting in person with your local neighborhood groups, local business partners, parent-teacher groups, friends, family members, and more. Use the materials provided to give a brief presentation about the process, facilitate a guided discussion, and collect input from participants.

Thank you for being engaged and we look forward to hearing from you!

Get Started

Ready to host an engaging and interactive meeting? Follow these simple steps to get started:

Schedule a meeting with your local organization, group, or community members. Pick a date and time that works best for everyone or speak at a regularly scheduled event. For those who can't attend in person, consider hosting a meeting on your social platforms or creating a virtual meeting.

Download the meeting materials from the top right corner of this page. These resources are designed to spark meaningful discussions and inspire creative solutions.

Share the materials with everyone present at the meeting. Encourage participants to dive in, share their thoughts, and collaborate on ideas.

Take detailed notes about the conversation, or collect the paper surveys and input forms from participants. After the meeting, submit the materials and any notes to City staff.
